Region VIII - April 6, 2021

Greetings all Region 7 & 8 Chiefs and Corporate Captains:

I hope this email finds you well. I would like to introduce myself. I am Chip Hawley, Chief of the North Carolina State Capitol Police in Raleigh. I am the newly elected Regional Director for Region VII, as part of the NC Association of Chiefs of Police.

I know we all get hundreds of emails weekly, and probably like myself, you are quickly reviewing and deleting those not needed.  With that said, I will keep this short and to the point. During the past year the NCACP has assisted me in creating relationships which resulted in information sharing that I found invaluable. Whether you are new to the job or a seasoned veteran, our profession has changed, and is changing right before our eyes. As leaders we MUST be the tip of the spear for that change.

I have reserved the Kerr Scott Building at the NC State Fair Grounds on April 6th 2021 for our first NCACP Region VII and VIII Spring Training Session. The hours for this event are 1000hrs – 1430hrs. This building will allow us to maintain the proper safety protocols with the COVID-19 restrictions. Please RSVP to me ([email protected]) no later than February 26th 2021. This meeting will be co-hosted by Chief Paul Burdette, Region 8 Director.

Contact has been made with Wingate by Wyndham, which is located at 6115 Corporate Ridge Road, Raleigh NC 27607. They can be reached at 919-480-8693. They advised they would honor the State rate, which is $75.10 a night.

I look forward to meeting each of you. If there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me directly. My personal cell is 919-291-2002. I have also included the link to the association’s website. Please consider joining or renewing if you are not a current member. If you have never been a member, the first year is FREE!

God Bless…Chip

NOTE:  Region VIII - That region bounded by and including the counties of Wilson, Wayne, Greene, Lenoir, Jones, Duplin, Onslow, Craven, Carteret, Pender, and New Hanover.
