Police Captain and Lieutenant - Competitive Process

The Matthews Police Department announces that it will hold a competitive promotion process for the ranks of Captain and Lieutenant. The application process will be open to internal and external candidates from Friday, August 1, 2025, through Monday, September 1, 2025. The Lieutenant assessment center will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025. The Captain assessment center will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025. Those selected to move forward in the hiring process will be provided additional assessment center schedule information at a later date.
