Resources and organizations are available to help first responders and those close to them recognize and manage their emotional wellbeing and address their mental health care.

FirstNet is an independent authority within the U.S. Department of Commerce. Authorized by Congress in 2012, its mission is to develop, build and operate the nationwide, broadband network that equips first responders to save lives and protect U.S. communities.

The North Carolina Police Executives Association (NCPEA) was incorporated August 28, 1947.   Members of the association represent federal, state, municipal, campus, corporate law enforcement and security agencies as well as legal and educational organizations responsible for the training and development of police professionals throughout the state. 

The Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) is an independent research organization that focuses on critical issues in policing.  

The National Prevention Toolkit on Officer Involved Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking is a project of the Law Enforcement Families Partnership (LEFP) at the Institute for Family Violence Studies within Florida State University’s College of Social Work. 

As a member of the North Carolina Association of Chiefs of Police (NCACP),  there is a direct and logical connection to participation in the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the IACP Annual Conference.  

The National Police Foundation's mission is to advance policing through innovation and science.
